Metaphor for my relationship to technology since the last time I wrote about metaphors.
Dear Karen, Originally I had said that I was as, “lost as a ball in high weeds”. I will have to say that it isn’t quite that horrible right now. I can find most of the e-mail sites that we have developed/discovered. [...]

Daughter Fair for laine

I watch her as she sleeps
So still
and peaceful
Unaware of the gentle sunlight
That moves across her little room,
Her golden lashes glisten
As the sun splinters
and lands
On a face so gentle and fair,
The problems of the world
Can not yet touch her here
In this place
where children [...]
Looking Back………. (personal piece)

As we plummet through the years
We realize little about the perils of moving too fast.
Although we are warned from time to time,
About the impending doom, we listen
But do not hear.
We fly on wings of youth and power
As we venture to exercise restless deeds.
What is time to us now,
But a question of [...]

Wow gals! That was a great presentation. My group said they felt at ease, energized, a sense of belonging, stretched out of our comfort zone. We decided that all of this was good. Differentiated Learning is the new buzz-word for education these days and rightfully so. What do we do with those students who continue [...]
“A Sight for Sore Eyes”

The thick fog twirls and flows
then lifts and dissapates,
as the morning sun
makes her first, faint but graceful appearance.
The song of newly born creatures
mix with the sight of hawks and owls
returning home, from a night of feasting.
The surface of the lake is only broken
by an early morning attempt for food
from those living [...]
Our Eddy (a Eulogy)

Quietly he walked in the lives of those who loved him,
Never making great waves,
choosing instead to keep a low profile.
His strength laid in his strong will and individuality,
He taught by demonstration;
his love and respect for nature and fairness.
The sight of a lone deer standing high on the ridge,
or the leap of a largemouth [...]

Away I go! Down to the first floor of Towers and across the campus to Corbly Hall. Wow! The cool breeze is so refreshing this morning. Up the elevator, down the hall, and I see that Amy and Hildegard have an early meeting. Someone (Beth maybe) has managed to get a window open and it [...]
Writing Group Today

Hey, today’s meeting in writing group got some writing energy going, don’t ya think? I hadn’t revisited the piece that I read for a long time. Since the time of that writing I have lost several loved ones. Since we talked about revising my piece, some memories came flooding back about our childhood. I say [...]

Blessings delivered in different forms and places
Bring to light, the small wonders of life.
The alarm clock fails to sound its timely call
Making haste of our usual routine.
We quicken, shorten, forget and scatter
Working efficiently, to neglect the things that really matter.
Outwardly, razzled and anxious, forgetting to remember tools for the day at hand,
Inwardly thinking about the [...]
Some Highlights from Sacred Writiing

I was just thinking about some of the things that I heard today when we did our sacred writing.
maturity, organization, enthusiasm, individuality, self-confidence, collaboration, personal sacrificing, alternative universes, learning styles, importance of writing in the classroom, better planning, authentic learning, that’s a pretty substantial list of things to learn, don’t ya’ think?
